Chapter 277: Behave Yourself If You Want a Good Life
Chapter 277: Behave Yourself If You Want a Good Life
The Huxley Estate, Julian Huxley looked at the butler standing in front of him, bent down, and politely bowed.
The butler stepped aside: "Young Master Julian, please don’t do this, I can’t bear your courtesy. The old gentleman is already waiting in the study, you can go straight in."
Julian Huxley softly thanked him, lifted his foot to walk forward when suddenly Justin Huxley’s voice came from behind: "Julian, when did you return to the country? Why didn’t you tell your brother?"
Wasn’t he at the company?
Having checked Justin’s whereabouts in advance, deliberately choosing to see the Old Master when Justin was meeting important clients, Julian cursed inwardly, turned around with a smile: "Justin, long time no see."
As they spoke, Justin had already come in front of him, putting an arm around his shoulder: "It’s true we haven’t seen each other for a while. I just came by to deliver something, no need for the butler to guide you, I’ll take you to the study on the first floor."
Julian could only sneer inwardly: how good he is at pretending!
And so Justin led Julian into the house.
The butler watched their backs, shook his head, and turned to the kitchen to prepare coffee.
In a corner not far away, a maid who was trimming bonsai withdrew her gaze, walked to a tree nearby, pulled out her phone, and called Tina Huxley.
Upon hearing the news, Tina hurried over from the hospital.
Julian had originally planned to probe the Old Master here, then meet Maxim Sinclair, seeking his help against Justin.
Unfortunately, luck wasn’t on his side today as Justin was also present, making it inconvenient to say much.
The Old Master knew both had ulterior motives, and after a seemingly cordial chat, he slyly signaled the butler.
The butler, receiving the cue, approached and patiently urged: "Old sir, according to the private doctor’s instructions, it’s time for you to rest now."
"Can’t you see I’m chatting with these two?" the Old Master feigned anger, "It’s rare to meet, haven’t talked enough yet."
"But the doctor said you must take medicine and rest now," the butler assisted the Old Master, looking apologetically at Julian and Justin, "Aren’t you both concerned about the old master’s health? The doctor stressed this to me, I dare not disobey! After all, his health is most important!"
"Of course, of course," Julian nodded first, walking to the Old Master’s other side, "I’ll be staying longer this trip back home, I’ll come back to play chess with you once you’re rested."
The Old Master patted his hand with a smile: "Good, good, you are all promising children, put your thoughts into your careers and perform well. Those who perform exceptionally will be rewarded generously!"
The three escorted the Old Master to his bedroom, the butler had to care for the Old Master’s sleep, politely ushering the two out.
Julian and Justin stood in the living room looking at each other, without words for a moment.
Tina’s appearance broke the silence.
Justin glanced at Tina appearing in the living room, then withdrew his gaze, ignoring her.
It was Julian who took the initiative to greet Tina for the first time: "Tina, why are you here?" Julian hadn’t gotten along well with her before, but now that times were special, he didn’t mind temporarily cooperating with Tina.
He had learned from his sources that Justin had heartlessly taken advantage of the situation, snatching away things from Mr. Huxley.
At this moment, Tina undoubtedly harbored special hatred towards Justin.
The more Tina hated Justin, the more advantageous the situation was for Julian.
Tina, surprisingly, was exceptionally polite to Julian: "Julian, when did you come? Why didn’t you say earlier? Where are you staying? Want to move to my place? It’s convenient and close to the estate, it would save you some trouble coming here."
"Sure!" Julian agreed readily, "I’ll have my things moved from the hotel to your place, it’s been a while since us siblings chatted."
Tina looked at Justin with resentment while responding to Julian: "It’s not the right time for a chat now, there’s a traitor in the family, once that’s dealt with, we can drink and chat our fill."
Justin, subtly insulted, merely sneered without acknowledging the friendly conversation, lifted his foot and walked out on his own.
Tina glanced at the butler, who had just come out of the bedroom, signaling a warning not to cause trouble, and unhappily chased after Justin, blocking him in the yard: "Why are you running? Feeling guilty?"
"What do I have to feel guilty about?" Justin looked puzzled, "Get out of my way, unlike you, I’m not idle. Uncle can’t handle the business now, everything depends on me, if you delay important matters, do you think you can handle the shareholders’ wrath?"
"Don’t show off here!" Tina, furious, shoved him, "If it weren’t for us, you would still be abroad, ungrateful traitor, we shouldn’t have helped you back then!"
Justin glanced at the bedroom with the tightly closed curtains, then at the silent Julian observing the drama, sneered: "Just wait, whatever you say now is just impotent rage. Use your energy to think about earning more benefits for yourself!"
"I’ll go inside and expose your true face to grandpa!"
As Tina spoke, she tried to walk inside, but Justin grabbed her arm, whispered through gritted teeth: "You better calm down, you’re not the only one in your family. If you continue causing trouble, guess what I’ll do? Don’t forget, the evidence of you drugging Maxim and previously framing Summer Lowell illegally, I have it all. If it comes to light, do you think you can still show your face in Stellarion?"
Justin deliberately raised his voice at the end, ensuring Julian standing nearby heard him clearly.
The threat indeed worked as Tina looked at Justin, embarrassed: "You’ve been preparing for this since long ago?"
"Why speak nonsense? Of course, the preparations were made long ago," Justin released her hand, "Think with the brain you use only for dressing up and clinging to Maxim, analyze the current situation well, behave and you’ll still have good days. If you go crazy, I can completely ruin your reputation, do you believe it?"
"You?!"
"Think it over yourself!"
Justin finished speaking, gave a meaningful glance at Julian, and left the Huxley Estate without looking back.
Julian, not having seen enough of the drama, leaned in: "Justin is quite scheming, we all underestimated him before."
"Yes, we did underestimate him before."
