Consequences of Dumping the Obsessive Boss: Stuck with Him Forever

Chapter 282: Maxim Sinclair Finally Strikes Back

Chapter 282: Maxim Sinclair Finally Strikes Back

Everyone knows what Summer Lowell did between Maxim Sinclair and Justin Huxley.

In the living room, no one dared to speak for a moment, fearing they might incur Maxim Sinclair’s wrath.

However, Maxim Sinclair just casually mentioned something before quickly returning to the main topic: "The timing is perfect now, let’s make a move."

Everyone present and those attending the online meeting perked up at this, with Charles Jenson seemingly the most excited: "Are we doing this now? Finally, it’s about to start. I’ve been almost stifled to death these days."

"What’s so stifling about it?" Maxim Sinclair smiled indifferently, "It’s a rare chance to perform, you can enjoy it."

"There’s nothing enjoyable about it," Charles Jenson shook his head repeatedly, his tone sounding particularly bitter, "Lately I’ve been mocked constantly, mocked that I can’t handle being the vice president anymore, and I just can’t swallow that."

Someone who was close to Charles took the chance to tease him: "Our young and capable President Jennings, who dares mock you? Anyone mocking you must have always been envious of you, and now finally found a chance to turn the tables, so they must be desperate to taunt and show off."

Charles Jenson showed a strange expression and waved his hand: "Alright, alright, I was just making conversation, let’s get back to business."

Maxim Sinclair’s gaze brushed over him, then he seemed to understand.

The only one who could mock him so brazenly and still be defended by him has to be Dr. Sullivan.

Indeed, love makes people blind.

As he thought about this, Maxim Sinclair suddenly laughed out loud.

He and Charles Jenson were in the same boat, after all.

This laugh startled those who were previously joking with Charles Jenson.

Assistant Collins, seeing the living room fall into an awkward silence, touched his nose and leaned in to ask Maxim Sinclair: "Should we start now?"

Maxim Sinclair discarded the chaotic thoughts in his mind, took the documents, nodded with a "Hmm," and said, "Everyone, take a look at the information first, and later, we’ll discuss where to start in detail."

Five minutes later, Maxim Sinclair, who finished reviewing the documents first, touched his fingers and got up to the adjacent kitchen to pour himself a glass of wine.

Almost an hour later, Matthew, who finally got the chance, handed over the tablet in his hand: "Since Justin Huxley learned you went abroad on a business trip, he’s arranged for a few people to roam around the Varden Villa District, trying to find a chance to encounter the Mrs."

Maxim Sinclair watched the surveillance footage on the screen, his face full of disgust: "We absolutely can’t let these people disturb Summer Lowell. Tell the butler to keep an eye on the house, and no matter what, don’t let Justin Huxley use Summer Lowell again."

"The butler is already aware," Matthew took back the tablet, "The butler has also noticed those sneaky people around the villa. He called me earlier to ask if you were busy and told me to inform you of this matter."

"It’s good that he understands what to do," Maxim Sinclair nodded, his peripheral vision catching Assistant Collins gesturing for him. He gave Matthew a few more instructions: "You handle it as you see fit. Just make sure Justin Huxley can’t use Summer Lowell again."

"Yes, understood."

...

Justin Huxley, working overtime until midnight, called on his trusted subordinates to join him for a break at the most lively bar street two blocks away.

After a few drinks, Justin Huxley, with a dazed expression, stared at the dancing crowd on the dance floor.

One of his nearby subordinates, eager to please, leaned in: "President Huxley, the owner of this bar was a college classmate of mine. If you fancy anyone, I can contact him to send them over."

Justin Huxley coldly glanced at him: "I’m watching people on the dance floor, not under the owner’s control. Are you drunk?"

The subordinate, embarrassed, repeatedly apologized and returned to his seat.

After a while, Justin Huxley loosened his tie, looking irritated, and downed several more drinks before standing up: "You guys keep playing, I have something to do, I’m leaving now."

Once in the car, Justin Huxley spaced out for a moment before telling the waiting driver upfront: "Head to the Varden Villa."

Inside the Varden Villa complex, Justin Huxley had the driver stop the car, stepped out, and stood on a stone bench, looking at the villa where Summer Lowell lived.

His heart was a mix of emotions!

The driver, glancing around and worried, eventually approached him: "President Huxley, it’s not too early, you have a meeting early tomorrow, you should go back to rest. I remember your new villa is nearby."

Blown awake by the cold wind, Justin Huxley regained some clarity: "Hmm, let’s go."

As he reached the car door, Justin Huxley turned back to look at the distance: "Wait for me, I’ll rescue you sooner or later."

...

Inside the villa, Summer Lowell, feeling thirsty in the middle of the night, got up for water and looked at the empty bed beside her, muttering: "How many days has it been without coming home? Big liar!"

Downstairs, Section Chief Grant called the butler: "Justin Huxley has left. You can sleep now, we’re watching, nothing will happen."

The exhausted butler, struggling to stay awake, yawned: "Good that he’s gone, then I’m relieved. You guys get some sleep too."

Early the next morning, just as Justin Huxley was awakened by the alarm, still sitting on the bed to wake himself up, his phone rang.

"Hello, Cameron Young, what’s wrong?"

Cameron Young’s voice sounded urgent over the phone: "President Huxley, something bad has happened. A supplier suddenly backed out, willing to pay the penalty rather than continue working with us."

Fully awake now, Justin Huxley asked: "What? Which supplier? Can we find a replacement?"

"No, President Huxley, that’s why I’m so anxious," Cameron Young’s voice was almost in tears, "It’s the supplier for medicinal herbs and medical equipment, Nash Medical. Only three companies in the country are allowed to produce these, and the other two refused to work with us from the start. This was the only one willing to work with us, and it was you who sealed the deal. None of the others in the company could do it."

Because of his successful negotiation with Nash Medical, Justin Huxley had managed to suppress other Huxley family siblings vying for power.

Without this supplier, he would lose his overwhelming advantage.

Justin Huxley took a sip of the ice water on the table to calm down: "There’s no rush, I’ll personally call Nash Family’s head later, and if needed, I’ll visit them myself. Your main task now is to push for payment and patch the firm’s financial hole promptly."

He couldn’t afford any mistakes here.

Cameron Young understood the gravity of the situation: "Understood, I’ll handle it immediately."
