Chapter 183 183: You don't have the keep doing that

Ella excused herself from the meeting and went to the washroom, where she observed Priscilla following her.

As soon as they entered the empty restroom, Priscilla's sarcastic giggle drew her attention, and she heard her add, "You sure have good taste in men, Ella. First Max, now Stefan, you appear to beguile every good-looking man with your not-so-good-looking face."

Ella frowned as she watched her approach her. She knew that Priscilla had never been good to her and had always been unfriendly, but she had no idea that her hatred for her would be so deep that she would try to seduce her man by exploiting his vulnerability.

Ella remained cool despite her provocative words.

"I might have good judgment in men, but how about you, Priscilla? I never thought you loved digging through other people's trash."

Priscilla's smile faded, and her eyes became cold at her disparaging comments.

It was startling to see Ella stand up for herself when she had never intended to do so previously. Not even when Max insulted her for not being a decent girlfriend, which led to his decision to have an affair with Priscilla.

But the Ella she saw in front of her was now as strong and resilient as she had been at work. She was eventually able to fight back, which made Priscilla jealous of her.

Priscilla's lips quiver in response to her offensive remark, but she quickly concealed her expression and smiled.

"What do you think will happen to you if that playboy loses his admiration for you? Your place would be much like the trash; the only difference is that no one would pick you." And Priscilla's remarks struck a chord in Ella's heart, prompting her to

"Fine, but promise to keep your hands off me and let me study or I will not allow you to come," Eveline threatened, and he quickly agreed.

Eveline watched him for a few seconds, and when she was certain, they got out of the car and went to the library.

Ella finished her duty and was about to go when Stefan blocked her path. She had been incredibly quiet after the meeting, focusing on her job without looking at him.

Stefan knew Priscilla had said something to her that had ruined her already spoiled mood, but he expected her to come and talk to him about it after all this time.

"Where are you going without me?" Stefan demanded, standing above her.

Ella gave him a harsh look and grumbled, "I'm going home because office hours are done. "I think you should also go home."

Stefan was astonished by her coldness, which upset him, but he brushed it aside and instead persisted, saying, "Then, as per our daily ritual, I will drop you home."

Ella pursed her lips and gave him a scowl. Her eyes flashed as she saw the smile on his face, and she temporarily forgot about Priscilla's words.

How was she meant to avoid him when he was following her like this? They had been in a relationship, but now she was having second thoughts.

Ella could wish to believe that Stefan would never abandon her, but that was the current scenario. Who could have predicted what the future held for them, or whether he would change his mind?

Stefan was a young, gorgeous man who was popular with women. He possessed a gaze that would make any female fall to her knees. He'd find lots of girls who could compliment him, so why was he so focused on her?

Priscilla was correct when she stated that Stefan will leave her, so why wait for the moment to arrive when they can create distance between them and then part.

"Stefan, you don't have to keep doing that." Ella managed to speak, and his eyes darkened as he dangerously reduced the space between them.

"What should I not keep doing?" he inquired in a voice that dropped the temperature to minus zero.
