Chapter 431: The Veteran’s Reprimand
Chapter 431: The Veteran’s Reprimand
Thea Shaw chuckled coldly in her heart.
She withdrew her gaze and continued watching Vivian Doyle on the rooftop.
The police had been persuading her for quite a while, and it was unclear what exactly was said up there, but eventually Vivian started crying. Fortunately, no dangerous actions were taken by the police, and she wiped her tears and stepped down from the edge of the roof.
The police breathed a sigh of relief, and the people below cheered.
In this day and age, people still have kindness in their hearts. Even if they are just onlookers, they wouldn’t want to see a living person jump to their death right in front of them.
Anyone who actually jeers and urges someone to jump is undoubtedly an absolute idiot.
As the crowd began to disperse, Aurora Sutton hadn’t returned yet.
Thea Shaw was about to head back to the company with Rowan Donovan when she heard the male colleague from earlier speak loudly again: "See, she wouldn’t dare to die. She’s just scaring people. Who’s she putting on a show for, wasting police resources? Does she really think this can threaten her way into a permanent position?"
A circle of people heard these words.
They looked at him; some showed disdain, while others seemed to vaguely agree, but no one dared to speak up.
Rowan Donovan glared at the man but didn’t dare to make a sound either.
The state of the workplace environment was vividly apparent.
Thea Shaw was a laid-back person, but she never tolerated others. So at this moment, she coldly chuckled and said two words with a volume that the circle around her could hear: "Idiot."
The crowd: "..."
That male colleague turned his gaze, incredulous, his face flushing as he looked at Thea Shaw.
Rowan Donovan also looked at Thea Shaw, unable to believe it, but she was excited.
Not knowing what to say, she subtly gave Thea a thumbs up.
The new intern, so gutsy!
Thea Shaw ignored the surrounding people and returned to the office with Rowan Donovan.
After she left, a few female colleagues around burst into muffled laughter, covering their mouths and glancing at that man.
Now, the man’s face was even more flushed, with a hint of embarrassed anger.
If Thea Shaw had argued with him, it might have been better, but instead, she simply gave her evaluation, which made the man’s words look like a clown act. Even those who agreed with him didn’t dare to come forward.
"You were amazing!"
Rowan Donovan laughed out loud as she entered: "That man is also from the Planning Department, named Alan Grant, and he’s in competition with Vivian Doyle. Every word he said was out of jealousy. I’ve met Vivian a few times, and I don’t think she’s like that. She must have been really pushed to the edge this time."
Rowan Donovan leaned closer to Thea Shaw, lowering her voice: "A few days ago, Manager Woods’ wife came to the company and made a scene, even slapped Vivian. We all thought Vivian would resign after that..."
But no one expected her to explode today and even cause this rooftop incident.
Even though it wasn’t very long, once the media reports on it, it might have some impact. Vivian probably won’t be able to stay at the company, and other companies in the industry might not dare to hire her.
It’s unclear what exactly prompted her explosion today.
"Rowan!"
Someone suddenly called out to Rowan Donovan, and Thea Shaw and Rowan turned to see Hailey King, the leader of another team in the department.
She was a woman in her thirties, dressed in professional attire, looking stern and old-fashioned, not like an office worker but more like the kind of disciplinarian that might exist in a school.
Hailey King said, "Stop spreading your speculations around when you don’t know the situation, and don’t lead the newcomer astray."
She hadn’t heard Rowan’s speculations, but just mentioning company matters made her unhappy.
